Both THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) and CBD (cannabidiol) are extracted from the buds/flowers of different varieties of plants from the cannabis/hemp family. These extracts interact with different receptors throughout our body (valid for all mammals not just humans). Whether you, eat, drink, or apply them to your skin, both CBD and THC interact with the Endocannabinoid System ECS in the body.
There are some similarities between the two but most things are significantly different too.
CBD is not psychoactive, it doesn’t make you high, comes from particular strains of industrial hemp ( not marijuana). CBD is sold as a food supplement in tinctures, an additive in edible treats, vape liquids, balms, cream etc.
Both effects of THC and CBD on your body take the same time to kick in and lasts again about the same time. Depending of how you consume it, the effects of one dose of either CBD and THC can last up to 12 hours. The traces in your body of both CBD and THC can last up to 3 weeks after last use, depending on how long you have been continually consumed. You will never be tested for CBD, there is no such test kit. Police and Employers could require you to provide a test for THC.
In many US States regular people can purchase THC products legally as long as they are 21 you for either use: medicinal or recreational purpose.
In UK and many European Countries the sale and distribution of THC products is illegal.
THC in Europe is legal only if prescribed by a doctor for the following conditions: Epilepsy, SIckness during Chemotherapy , PTSD and Chronic Pain.
CBD instead is legal as a food supplement only with strict labelling restrictions in most countries.
Around the world many countries have obsolete regulations that consider all hemp as marijuana for which THC, CBD and all other cannabis plant extracts (CBG, CBN, etc) are illegal.
CBD alleviates symptoms for a lot of people. THC also improves the life for many . If you are fortunate to live in a country that allows you to use it then you must try them!
